The G4 ICARUS is a high-tech combustion-based carbon and sulfur analyzer equipped with BRUKER’s exclusive ZoneProtect cleaning system, which extends the life of the quartz tube by reducing cleaning frequency by up to four times.
The analyzer complements existing analytical techniques, offering greater accuracy in determining carbon and sulfur, both for low and high concentrations.
In less than 60 seconds, you’ll have the results on your computer screen using combustion analysis.
Minimal sample preparation is required, making it ideal for light elements (carbon and sulfur), especially for cast iron alloys, where carbon and sulfur determination requires extreme care when analyzed with an optical emission spectrometer.
G4 PHOENIX
To prevent embrittlement and cracking caused by Hydrogen
The G4 PHOENIX was designed for the rapid and accurate determination of Diffusible Hydrogen using the hot gas extraction method, in different types of materials, mainly Steels and Welding.
- Infrared oven for rapid heating and cooling (up to 900°C). Its 30mm quartz tube allows analysis of large samples such as steel strips and sheets, or weld seams (meeting ISO 3690 and AWS A4.3 standards). The oven is versatile, as it allows the use of temperature programs (ramps) to evaluate different types of hydrogen retained in the sample.
- Resistance tube oven capable of reaching up to 1100°C, specifically for determining diffusible and residual hydrogen in carbon steel samples. 18mm quartz tube.
A Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer can be coupled to the G4 PHOENIX, which allows the determination of ultra-low concentrations (ppb) of Diffusible Hydrogen or its isotopes, for studies of different Hydrogen traps in steels.
Applications: Metal industries, welding, high-strength steel, automotive, aerospace, materials research and alloy development are some of the main markets.
Analysis time: 3 minutes â 2 hours (depending on material, weight and temperature).
Welding samples: within 30 minutes.
G6 LEONARDO
Precise temperature control and sample protection from unwanted heat.
The G6 LEONARDO analyzes hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen released during the melting of a metal sample at high temperatures. These gases are transported via an inert gas to a thermal conductivity detector, allowing analysis at very low detection limits.
Even when present in small quantities, O, N, and H have a critical effect on the properties of metallic materials, potentially compromising their quality, service life, and mechanical properties.
With all this in mind, BRUKER has enhanced this analysis system by equipping the oven with Fusion Controlâą and SampleCareâą systems, allowing precise temperature control and protecting the sample from unwanted heat.
The equipment features exclusive Smart Molecule Sequenceâą technology for direct measurement of all emitted gases and real 1:1 information and proven principles for reliable results due to its latest generation detectors with reference channels for analysis of each type of gas.
